Home Wi-Fi Improvements in Cheshire

Poor signal upstairs, dropped connections or rooms where Wi-Fi barely works? We help assess the layout and discuss a suitable way to improve coverage.

Understand where the connection is struggling

Wi-Fi coverage depends on the property, equipment and devices using it. Thick walls, floors, distance and router placement can all affect the result. We start with where the connection works well and where it becomes unreliable.

  • Weak signal in bedrooms, home offices and other rooms.
  • Connections that drop or struggle during calls and streaming.
  • Router location and wireless network settings.
  • Mesh Wi-Fi or additional access points where appropriate.
  • Connections to garden offices or outbuildings, subject to a suitable assessment.

Choose equipment around the property

A booster is not a universal solution. An access point with a suitable wired connection, a mesh arrangement or a different router position may make more sense. We discuss the layout, cabling options, devices and budget before recommending equipment.

Wi-Fi speed and broadband speed are different

Improving wireless coverage does not increase the speed supplied by your provider. If devices struggle next to the router too, the incoming connection or the device itself may need checking. Our guide explains how to tell a broadband problem from a Wi-Fi problem.

Useful checks before you contact us

Note which rooms and devices are affected and whether the problem changes at different times. Read why Wi-Fi can be poor upstairs. You do not need to buy new equipment before discussing the symptoms.

For a new provider or router, see home broadband and router setup. For other household technology, explore home computer support.
