A backup should come with a way back

Lost files, failed equipment and incidents can interrupt your work even when your data is stored online. We help customers in Cheshire understand what needs protecting and choose a practical backup arrangement.

We discuss the files, applications and systems involved, how frequently they change and the disruption a loss would cause. The aim is an agreed backup scope and a recovery process you understand.

On-site backups and UK cloud backups

We provide on-site backups for computers, servers and shared storage, alongside cloud backups to Amazon S3 buckets located in the UK. We can combine local and cloud copies to suit your data, working arrangements and recovery requirements.

We agree what is backed up, how often copies are taken, how long they are retained and how restores will be checked. On-site storage, cloud storage and ongoing monitoring are included in the agreed scope of work.

What we can help with

  • On-site backups for important computers, servers and shared storage.
  • Cloud backups to Amazon S3 buckets located in the UK.
  • Reviewing which files and services are included or excluded.
  • Retention, access protection and options for separate or protected copies.
  • Agreed restore checks, failure notifications and ongoing responsibilities.

Local and cloud copies serve different needs

A local copy can be useful when restoring larger amounts of information nearby. An off-site copy can help when the original equipment and local backup are affected by the same event. The right combination depends on your data, budget and recovery requirements.

File synchronisation is not the same as an independent backup strategy. Changes or deletions may be synchronised too. For Microsoft 365, we can discuss what the existing retention features cover and whether a separate copy is appropriate.

Test restores, not just backup messages

A successful backup notification does not demonstrate that every required file or application can be recovered. We discuss a practical restore check and who will monitor failures. Backup storage, subscriptions and ongoing checks are scoped separately.

For wider system recovery planning, see data and disaster recovery. Backup designs reduce risk; they do not guarantee protection against every loss or attack.

Support across Cheshire and surrounding counties

We welcome enquiries from Crewe, Nantwich, Winsford, Tarporley, Northwich and Warrington, as well as customers across Cheshire and the surrounding counties, including Shropshire, Staffordshire and Denbighshire. Tell us your postcode and what you need so we can discuss a suitable visit, remote session or project assessment.

Common questions

Is cloud storage enough on its own?

It depends on the service, retention settings and risks. We review whether deleted or changed information can be recovered and whether you have an independent copy.

Can you review the backups I already have?

Yes. Tell us the products, devices and services involved, and what you would need to recover. We can discuss a review and an agreed restore test.

How quickly can I get my data back?

Restore time depends on data size, the backup location, internet speed and the systems needed. We agree realistic recovery requirements before choosing the approach.
