Who we are

Cheshire Technology Solutions Ltd provides IT support, computer, website, connectivity and managed technology services. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website and when you contact us about our services.

For privacy enquiries, email support@cheshire-technology.com or call 01270 295210.

Information you provide

Our contact request form asks for your name, email address, the service you are interested in and your message. You may also provide a company name and telephone number. We receive information you choose to give us by email or telephone, including follow-up correspondence.

Please do not put passwords, payment card details or sensitive personal information in the enquiry form. If access or other information is needed for a support task, we will discuss an appropriate way to provide it.

How we use your information

We use enquiry information to respond, discuss requirements, prepare quotations and provide any services you ask us to arrange. We may retain related correspondence to manage that work and answer follow-up questions.

Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, or we provide services under a contract with you, we rely on the contractual basis where applicable. For business contact correspondence and the normal administration of enquiries, our legitimate interests are to communicate with customers and operate our business. We also rely on legitimate interests to maintain website reliability, prevent abuse and protect our systems. Where information must be retained or disclosed to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the relevant basis.

Submitting this form does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list.

Website operation, logs and cookies

Hosting and security systems may process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, access times and browser information to deliver the website, troubleshoot faults and help prevent abuse.

The site uses WordPress and WPForms Lite for the enquiry form. Form enquiries are delivered to us by email. The current Lite setup does not provide a stored form-entry database or enable the optional entry-backup service. Information can still exist in our email system, correspondence, operational logs and relevant backups.

WPForms also records anonymous combined form-view statistics within the website database. Its current form analytics feature does not use cookies, record personal visitor information or send those statistics to an external analytics service.

Optional Google Analytics

If you select Accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand website visits, popular pages and interactions such as telephone or email link clicks, remote-support link clicks and successful contact requests. The analytics events do not include the name, email address, telephone number or message entered in our contact form. We strip query strings and fragments from the page and referring-page addresses we send.

Google Analytics may process online identifiers, device and browser information, approximate location derived from the connection and usage information. It uses first-party _ga cookies and related _ga_ cookies to recognise visits. We set these analytics cookies to expire after approximately six months. We do not enable advertising personalisation or Google signals in our website tag.

Analytics relies on your consent. Before you accept, or if you reject analytics, our Google Analytics tag is blocked and does not send analytics data. Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Rejecting after acceptance stops future tracking, removes accessible analytics cookies and reloads the page. Withdrawal does not undo processing that already occurred.

We remember your accept or reject choice in this browser’s local storage for 180 days so you do not have to answer on every page. This preference storage is separate from analytics cookies. Google processes analytics information on our behalf and may process it outside the UK under its applicable data-protection arrangements. See Google’s privacy information for more about its processing.

WordPress uses cookies for signed-in site administrators, and essential technologies may support requested website functions and security. If new tracking or embedded services are introduced, this information and the relevant controls will be reviewed.

Who may receive your information

Information is available to the people who need it to handle your enquiry or provide the service. Service providers supporting website hosting, email, security, IT and backups may process information on our behalf. We may share information with professional advisers or public authorities where necessary and lawful. We do not sell enquiry information.

Email and other technology providers may use processing locations outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer applies, the relevant data-protection safeguards must be in place. Contact us if you would like information about the suppliers and arrangements relevant to your enquiry.

How long we keep information

We retain enquiry records while they are needed to handle the enquiry, deliver any resulting service and meet legal obligations. The period depends on whether the enquiry leads to work, whether there is ongoing support or correspondence, and whether records are needed for accounting, a complaint or a legal claim. We review information against those purposes rather than retaining enquiries indefinitely without a reason.

Copies within backups may remain until the backup is replaced or expires under the relevant backup arrangements.

Your information rights

Depending on the circumstances and the applicable lawful basis, you may have rights to access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict processing or receive information in a portable form. Some requests may be subject to legal exceptions. Contact us using the details above to make a request.

Your right to object

You can object to our use of your personal information where we rely on legitimate interests. Tell us which processing you object to and the reasons relating to your situation so we can consider the request.

Concerns and complaints

Please contact us if you have a concern about how we use your information. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator. Information is available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
